Get a toothbrush, some degreaser to loosen all that rubbish already built up under there, (cover up the battery and various other wiring)... Then soap and water... Then water and you're done...

hey man... i actually did this last week and its pretty easy. i had some concentrate Purple Power cleaner and i just diluted it about 1 part cleaner / 4 parts water. i covered my pop charger with some plastic and put a plastic bag over my battery. soaked the engine with the cleaner ... let it set for 3-4 min maybe.... sprayed it off... and there ya go... a nice, shiney engine. and if your engine is really dirty try making the solution stronger or you might have to get a rag or something. oh, and be sure that your engine is not hot... you might crack something. good luck

Simple Green works good for me. Also, if you get corrosion on your battery terms...just get a can of Coke(not pepsi!) can pour it on the terms one at a time. You will be surprised how well Coke eats that corrosion away! other than that, just wipe down the battery with a old wet rag.

Get some simple green, go to a coin car wash, wash your car:time 4 engine to cool off, spray simple green all around and watch all the grease drip, spray the high pressure car wash wand over the engine, keep engine faced toward the sun for an hr. Perfectly clean engine
