When I thought it couldn't get any worse....

Well, for those of you that dont know, I had by 02 SE break down last night due to a MAF failure. Due to the grace of God, the dealer covered it under warranty. Now, about three hours ago, I was coming through an intersection in town here and was T-boned at about 40 mph. The car is totally messed up and undriveable. In a weird way, I hope its totalled. I'm pretty upset now after all this, so I'll post pics and more details later.

Drive safe everyone.

you just werent meant to have a maxima were you? Whats important is that you arent hurt.. You'll be plenty mobile enough to go pick yourself out a nice CLS.

Thanks for all the support. Thats why I want it to be totalled. My insurnace will pay it off and I can get a different car. If its fixed, there will be no way I can sell it for a long while since the value will plummet.

No clue what I'll get. Most certaily not another Maxima though..lol. I like the CL-S 6spd, IS300 5spd, and all the others we often discuss. Who knows though. I dont want a tiny car though, sine the size of the Maxima was definately in my favor this evening.

Sorry man!

Yeah pray for a total. That car will probably never drive the same again.

Having a new car totalled (bigger payout) is a real convenient way to get a new car though, so have fun car shopping

I am glad to hear you are ok. Wasn't your car the fastest stock 2k2 that we know of so far? Its sad when a car like that has to go.

Sorry about your accident

I looked really close a the CL-S 6-speed before getting my Max. After owning my 2000 SE, I wanted to try something different, but I couldn't justify spending an extra 5 grand for two less doors, no rear spoiler or fog lights and the same options. Looks at another Max..it is truley the best bang for the buck!

Time for that G35

I've been drooling all over the G35... RWD, sedan or coupe, auto or stick (of course, auto sedan is the only available now) IRS and the VQ. You can't ask for more...

Maybe you just weren't meant for the "2k2" Max. I mean, you may look REAL GOOD in one of those hot 2k3 TE's. Don't give up on the Max just yet. Or maybe go to Max's brother: the 350Z. Can't go wrong w/ one of them bad-boyz!!

Seriously though... glad you're OK! Good luck!

That totally sucks, dude! I'm glad you are okay! I was wondering if you had side airbags and if so, did they deploy?

Good luck with whatever happens!

Well, they are fixing the car. There is no way in heck I car sell/trade now that its wrecked. Oh well. I'll just mod it alot to make up for it.

I didn't have sideairbags, but if I did, this would have been a textbook case for them to deploy.

The silver lining is that while its in the shop, I'm having the front bumper refinished due to bad bug pitting and rock chips as well as a 3M clear bra put on.

Sorry to hear.

G35 is nice and all, but only the auto version available right now. The 350Z might be a bit too small for you. So I say the 6spd CL-S is a very good candidate, but it's still a fwd car, not sure if that's important to you. I don't know if you been in a IS300, but it feel kind of cramp for a sedan IMO. Plus stock wise, it's kind of weak compared to the CL-S and the '02 Maxima. Also, what's up with chrome shifter in the 5spd IS300...ouch!
