when buying parts from people on the org, are money orders safe? how can i be sure that i will receive my part...if there is any safer way let me know..except goin where they live..thanks.

You had better be 100% sure the seller is trustworthy. A MO is just like cash. In all internet transactions, there must be a certian level of trust on both sides.

Usually if the seller has been here on .org a long time, the deal should go down okay. If the seller has really new to this board, take extra precaution. Either way, look up the seller's profile and scan their previous posts.

 

Try and find somebody reputable to buy from. Also, do a search on someone's name in the FS forum. I have had nothing but good deals from people on the org. Make you sure you save email and IM conversations too, just in case.

 

Regardless of all the problems PayPal has, I still prefer to use them when buying online from people I don't know. They have buyer protection policies and if the seller does end up robbing you PayPal will investigate and then if the seller can't produce proof of shipment then you get your money back. A good seller will always accept a variety of payments like checks, money orders and paypal.
