Hmm Porsche 911 turbo, Toyota MKIV TT Supra, Mitsu new evo, RX-7 TT, BMW E36/E46M3/5.

Uh yeah, I "think" I could be pryed out of my maxima for one of those.

Trust me guys, if I had the money, I would not be driving a maxima. BMW M5, BMW M3, Benz E55, Audi RS6, ... are just some of the cars that I would be driving if I had the money to do so. In the mean time, I LOVE my max!!

I'd drive a Ferrari if I could afford it. From experience though, Nissans are very reliable for the money. Guess thats why I stick with them.

The Supra is returning next year? That's great! This is the first I've heard of it. Sports cars are making a comeback. The new RX8 looks like its going to be very nice.

although our last 5 cars since 1993 have been nissan-made, if i had the dough for a nice BMW (M3/M5/5-series/7-Series) or the new benz SL500...leave nissan in a heartbeat

I have owned 4 cars so far. '87 Sentra, '87 maxima GXE, '89 Maxima GXE, and '97 Maxima SE. Next is the 350 Z. I guess that could be seen as brand loyalty!

I am a Nissan fan in general. I love the Maxima but very impressed with Nissan (Infiniti) altogether.

I also drive a Skyline R34 imported by Motorex.

Considered the A4 & Acura TL before I picked up my 99 SE last month. All said, the Maxima was the best value in a sporty 4 door, IMO. Best mix of reliability, cost, handling, speed, etc. Next time maybe an S4 or 3 Series (when money is a smaller factor), but I'll have this Max for a long while before that.

My oldest sister did, she couldn't wait to get out of her '97 SE and into her '01 BMW 330i convertible (doesn't want to go back to Nissan)

Same w/ my brother, he has an '02 VW Passat and I now have his '98 SE (also doesn't want to go back to Nissan but he does like the new Altima, 350Z and the Infiniti G35)

For me, I'm debating whether or not to switch to anything else other than Nissan, but if I did have $$ maybe I'd go german (BMW) or move up to Infiniti (G35 2 or 4 door maybe). But for now I love my '98 SE and that itself is a keeper.

I would "take" a Lexus gs430, BMW 745i, Audi TT, and other nice cars.

But if Im buying the car with my money, it will most likely be a Nissan.

P.S.- Who would buy an Lancer Evo? yeah they run 13's, but damn the're ugly...and it's a f'n Mitsubishi!

He likes the new Altima? It has a poorly designed interior... weird.

This is all about opinions though..

You bet I'd buy a non-nissan car. Infact this will be the ONLY nissan I will ever buy. I'll spare everybody my feelings since most already know.

being real - i like the performance and handling of the new vw passat (5 spd, with the V6) - it's quicker and has tons of power in 5th gear so you can accelerate when you're allready going 80...

I would rather have a ZO6 or a lingenfelter vette or even just somthing that has a 0-60 time of 5 seconds or less.

Yeah, that would be nice. I think the RX8 is going to be around 6.2 in the 0-60 and around 14.5 in the 1/4 mile. Would be interesting to see what aftermarket parts become available for them and how hard its going to be get them in the 13s.

Has nobody heard of the signal skyline??? 8.99 second quarter mile, with one of the most sophisticated 4WD systems around? This thing would tear it up. Hands down, that over any car. Or maybe a Ferarri F1 car if it was street legal. LMAO. but no on a more serious note. i would drive other cars, but if i could own any car. it would be the Signal R34.

I heard the Pontiac GTO is making a comeback in a year or so, so that's another tire-smoker there

You heard right. It comes out next year. "Inside" sources say that it'll sticker somewhere around the 2k2 Max price of $32-33k. It's an LS1 powered RWD street machine I would LOVE to have one of those!

lol, FJC

What I meant to say is that my brother likes the new Altima's overall, but he doesn't like how cheap the inside feels and how the 3.5L SE Altima is similarly priced to a Maxima (Base/Fully Loaded 3.5SE)

For me: SL600, BMW 850I, 911 GT2 Turbo, Macflaren, Testarossa, SLK32 AMG, Z8/M5, Beautiful yellow Lotus, Diablo, skyline, Rx-8 TT, and the list goes on:

If you could have any of the cars as a trade for your max above which would you choose?

the v6 passat shouldn't be too much different from a maxima in terms of performance, if anything, its slower. why not a 1.8t passat with a chip, those are a lot faster and more fuel efficient.
