rough idle

Hey everyone, sometimes when i idle in my car its a little rough, it sounds like it is either the valves or an exhaust leak. Sometimes when i accelerate hard i can here someting almost like a slight rattle(i do mean very slight, but its there) in the engine, but this is only when its hot outside. Remember i live in Phoenix ,AZ where its already 110 degrees. So do you think i have a problem with the exhaust or valves or just the heat. When i drive at night or when its cooler the idle seems to be better and no rattling on acceleration.

I'm gonna be a little nice here cause his second post made me laugh my a$$ off.

The reason why no one replied is because your first post was at 10:21, then your second post flaming maxima.org was made at 11:21, one hour later. Do you really expect that within an hour that you'll get people to help solve your problem? If you had waited until the end of the day your would definitely have gotten some responses, however you chose to be impatient and now no one will probably give you a good answer now. People don't live in here to cater to other people's problems, we all just come and browse through the messages once or twice a day.

I would offer some suggestions but i dunno what would cause rattling when hot but not when cold. When you said rough idle i was thinking bad motor mounts.

If i was you

the first thing id do is get an exhaust wrap to keep things cool, also a trranny cooler and cai is very nessesary, and the warpspeed y definetly will improve driveability guarenteed. but those tep=mps are no joke, maintain your fluids

first thing to do is check your timing and use a higher octane gas. the noise you're hearing is possibly the engine knocking because of low octane fuel and too-advanced timing.

Rattling/rough idle

I agree, it sounds like you have some pinging problems("rattling" during acceleration). You can check out your timing, or you can also check your spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor(maybe even your air filter). Basically, it sounds like you just need a tune-up.
