I just went to gas up my 2K2 for the first time and I remembered a bunch of posts on .ORG about the missing cover on the filler tube (in the wheel well) Low and behold I look inside the wheel well the the cover is missing!
I couldn't find a TSB about this. What should I do? Didn't Nissan figure this one out yet.

if you live in a 'salt' state, Nissan found there to be corrosion with the cover installed, thats why they removed it.

 

Ahh, well I live in sunny CA. I remember the issue was dirt and road grime around the filler.
