For ALL 2k2 6 Speed Maximas...kinda long.
For ALL 2k2 6 Speed Maximas...kinda long.
Just got off the phone with ACT to see if I can get a aftermarket clutch made for the 2k2 6spd Maximas and here is the info:
1. They said to send them a clutch and flywheel from a 2k2 Max to see if they can use some of the parts of the 2k1/2k Maxes to make one for the 2k2.
2. Once they receive the clutch they will inspect and see if this is possible, if it is possible then the clutch will be made and should be out by early winter.
3. If ACT cannot use the parts they have to modify and make the clutch for the 2k2 using earlier maxima parts, then they said this will have to wait. The said that they are really busy coming out with new products and that maybe next year.
4. If this is possible I will be purchasing 10 kits from ACT for the 2k2 Max 6spds.
5. For the Max owner that can come up with the donation of a clutch & flywheel from a 2k2 Max, there will be a free clutch.
This is an attempt that could or could not happen, If anyone is interested then feel free to contact me via PM or email. Thanks and just trying to look out for those 2k2!!!

Thank you sir! I appreciate your efforts to look out for us 2k2's and maybe your bank account as well
There are a couple things that i've learned during my limited research!
1. The 2k2 clutch seems to be 10mm larger in diameter than the 2k/2k1 clutch.
2. The 2k2 maxima shares the SAME tranny as the spec-v sans bell housing, which is a bit larger on the maxima.
Credit to Dave Burnette for this info. This might be interesting to ACT because the 2k2 clutch can not be re-engineered with 2k1 parts. Also any clutch developed for the 2k2 max could potentially be used for the much larger market of the sentra SE-R spec-v!
