I'm confident that the streak left on my windshield where the passenger wiper stops its range of motion is something with wax in it. When it rains I see then outline of that mark beading up and standing out from the rest of the shield.

So......what over the counter product removes wax based gunk from glass as good old Windex(or those type) just don't cut it or get the job done. Someone suggested Zaino but i'd rather see if I can try something locally before going that route.

 

When things were impossible to clean off (such as wood sealant sprayed on my car) I got it off with Meguiar's cleaner wax. Again, the only disadvantage is it seems to cause the glass to fog-up on the outside when it's raining and a/c is on. But it cleans anything off--believe me Windex could not put a dent in the porch sealant that got all over my glass.
