what will happen with inspection if i get a y-pipe. i know that all of you say that the y-pipe is 50-state illegal, but what would happen if i put it on my car. when my car has to go in for inspection, and i have a y-pipe on, what will the mechanic make me do

so, what you're saying is drop my car off for inspection after about half hour of driving, then get it inspected? how long will it be passable before it needs to be driven again?

drive around hard for about 2 hours, and the last 30 minutes drive easier. hehe

In my mind i would assume that would keep the last cat pretty hot.

then again, i've never had to go for this kind of inspection before

NO and NO

no one has ever failed, at least no known case... if the car fails the inspection then it must be something else contributing to it. Even driving the car around isn't probably that necessary.. they usually need to have the car warmed up before testing it.. i just took my fathers car in for the inspection yesturday.. don't worry about failing the emissions with it.

unless you live across the street from the DMV you will not fail as long as you just let the car warm up. when the car warms up the pre cats don't do anything. they burn up the s**t in your exhaust when it is cold but once the cat converter warms up you're ok.

Would my Max with all the bolt-ons (pop-charger, y-pipe, rt cat, cat-back) fail? I never really got a straight answer.
