Can I Drill My Firewall Here? (repost)

After a few days in the audio forum and no answers, i am now reposting my thread here:

Ok, well, i found the little hole that goes from engine compartment to the wheel well. I have removed the mud guard and see where the wires go through the large rubber gasket into the compartment. I know i will need to drill another hole (please tell me if i dont need to) in that same general vacinity to get my 1/0AWG power cable through to the compartment. Is there ANYTHING AT ALL, ANYTHING I COULD POSSIBLY HIT in that area that would hurt the car? I can not tell if the metal panel in the wheel well is the same one behind the fuse box, or if there is a gap between those two panels. I just want to make DAMNED sure that there is nothing i could **** up by drilling in that area.

basically, is there anything important behind the firewall in the area just above the footrest (or behind the footrest)? and is this the best possible place to drill. and do i NEED to drill, or is there a spot that can fit 1/0AWG?

thanks!

there are a lot of past threads on firewall drilling, but i could find none that address this particular issue.

I am sorry to post again, but i am going to do this wire run tomorrow morning, thanks for understanding.

:o)

My guess is you'll be fine. Drill as small a hole as you can, make sure you use a rubber grommet and stay close to the hood release hole.

I just cut a little slit in that large grommet and ran my wire through that.
