I just got a new magnaflow muffler. First off all I really like it, it sounds nice and deep. But not too loud. I was just wondering why I can bearly hear it when I first start driving my car after it's been sitting. It kicks in after awhile when the engine warms up a little. I'm not worried to much about it but i just want to know why?

Also how come I can't even hear it at WOT???

Good question. mine does the same.

at startup and initial driving the exhaust tone is quiet.. but as the motor warms up, i can tell its louder. and if im been driving all day long. it becomes kinda annoying.

 

i think its because its just a muffler that the sound isnt that loud...the engine needs to warm up to hear the full effects of your muffler....im kinda upset you cant hear the muffler through the entire RPM range but i can hear it good from 2000-2500rpm...just my 2 cents.

 

I so hear you man. I'm putting my stock muffler back on I plan to sell the aftermarket one I have after it's been removed, lol.

 

Hm I noticed a grammar problem in my sentence! "I plan to sell the aftermarket one I have after it's been removed." I meant I plan to sell the aftermarket muffler, after I put on my stock muffler. Man I just started my vacation from College and I'm already forgetting things! NOOOOOO!!!
