I don't think so....from what i read, the tennessee plant is producing 2003, but only for testing and not for sale to the public. My 2003 was from Japan.

2003->Japan, 2004->USA. The TN plant produced some 2004 preproduction models for test.

That I have not heard but it seems highly unlikely. Since the plant to assemble the 2K3 is in Japan, I don't know where they would assemble a 2K3 here in the US. It seems highly unlikely that Nissan would ship parts to the US to have them assembled here. The TN plant(which I think is Nissan's only current US plant) would have to be tooled up to build these 2K3 cars for a short time. That would not be a wise move for Nissan since they are preparing to build the 2K4 Max's.

No, they aren't. Production of the Maxima isn't supposed to start until January of 2003. You can bet your last dollar that the car they make will be a 2004 MY.

I remember reading in a car magazine that 2003 Maximas would be made in USA. I cannot remember which magazine it was, though. If anybody has one, just check the VIN. If it starts with a "J" it's made in Japan. If it starts with a "1" it's made in USA.
