Finally a FSTB member!! but...H&R, Eibach, or Progress???

guys, finally, i got my FSTB a week ago, and got it installed to my ride for 30mins (i know it's long..). Hey, what can i say?? better steering response and better handling, it is the always the first upgrade in my list... it was a b-day gift from my GF. so WELCOME ME TO THE FSTB FAMILY!! on the other hand... i am planning to get the lowering springs, but for now, the progress springs has the cheapest price and the lowest dropping, but dont know about the quality. H&R is the second rank of dropping, nice quality, tirerack has the best deal that i can found for $235. Eibach does not drop that much but the quality that everyone knows. So which one should i get?? i need ur comments.

Thanks

Dude their are many threads discussing this exact topic in detail. As a result of those threads I will be purchasing H&R's.

Are you going to get aftermarket shocks at the same time as the springs?

Can you rank the following in importance, and tell us what you expect to get from the springs?
Handling
Ride
Drop

I have pics of my Progress drop at my homepage.

Berk Tuning springs. No, they're not available yet, but they're worth waiting for. Among other things, you'll be able to use your stock struts with them. In the meantime, get a Stillen RSB. It's made by Eibach. I recommend it over the Addco RSB because I've heard about fitment problems with the Addco.

no fittment probs here just followed the instructions and stayed 4" from the bend with the bracket and bushing and saved over $100

I have installed the Addco on 2 2k2s and it works great, adjust the brackets in 4" and you are golden!!!

Only time will tell if the cheaper springs cause problems. I'm not going to risk it so I'm getting H&Rs. Eibachs are too harsh a ride from what most say.

As far as Maxspeed goes, though i don't have a bunch of experience with it on my Max, all i can say is... with the Honda crowd, the Maxspeed coilovers have been doing them years of good service.

Right, soundmike. Maxspeed coilovers have an excellent reputation. And were it not for the fact that ANY aftermarket springs (including H&Rs) have stiffer spring rates than stock, I would have purchased the Maxspeeds without hesitation during the last GD. But my Maxima already rides stiff enough for my liking.

I'm hanging on waiting for Berk Tuning to release their springs. The fact that they'll have the same spring rate as the OEM springs appeals to me as does the fact that I shouldn't have to go out and buy new struts to use. And knowing Bryan, the price will be right when he brings them to market.

Hey Bryan. Can't ya hear me knockin'?

Ok...I have seen other posts of people who have tokico blues up front and KYB AGX's in back, riding with H&R's. What's the advantage to having 2 different kinds of shocks? I'm puzzled

The reasoning behind it is that they wanted AGX all around but given the fronts are modified Cattman's w/ 1yr warranty some people would rather wait until the real 5th gen AGX's come out next year and get the lifetime warranty.

In the meantime, they'll put the AGX in the back (non-modified, fits right in) and get something cheaper for the front to balance things out (In this case the non-adjustable Tok's)

Thanks, that makes sense.

Admittedly, I haven't done a real thorough search on this one (please, hold the flames) but I noticed in the 5th gen faqs that there is a spring guide with drop & ride comfort info. Can we get a post/faq on the different shocks/struts combos?
