245/50-16 tires

I'm looking for new wheels and tires, I'm planning to go with 17x8 with 235 or 245/45-17 tires. But I was wondering, how about a 245/50 16. Reason being I read a thread about the 4x4 look. Can anybody advise?

you cant put 245 on 16's unless there 8" wide
