+Swap to 2000 Intake Manifold Update
- Alrighty. Some of you will remember my thread from a while ago. I proposed swapping a 5th gen intake manifold onto a 4th gen to get some of the power that the new cars have.
- I went to the dealership and got a printout with a schematic and all the parts numbers. The gasket for the 2000 (Part # 14010A) is much larger than ours (Part #14035P), so that would imply that the "splitter" (the part the splits the air flow from the solitary manifold into the two banks of the "V") would be bigger. But it's not! It's actually the same part as a 4th gen's CALIFORNIA spec splitter. Great Googly Moogly!!! So this looks like the manifold is bigger, but the very next part is the same (worse in the other 49 states) as ours! This is not making much sense to me.
- So, if a bigger manifold works, just take out your 4th gen manifold and have it ported. Much cheaper that way. I'm going to investigate this further to see what's up. Any thoughts?
