NC Inspection problems?

Hey guys I have to get my car inspected in July and I have a few concerns. I've of all is my torn cv boots and clicking joints, do I have to get those replaced before hand if I want to pass? Also I have a custom cat-back with a K&N filter and te $15 upper intake pipe in place of the resonator, should there be any problems there either?

Call your local DMV, they can answer your questions better than some nobody off the 'net...

Do your own legwork.

Hey I don't think you guys are nobodys. I thinkwe are a very intelligent and capable group. I'm sure they can answer the cvboot/joint question but i doubt the know that a $15 upper intake pipe is.Lol

hey man, i've had my car inspected 2 times with my intake and no one has said anything to me. i don't think there are any regulations reguarding intake or anything cat-back. as long as you can pass the emmsions i think you will be ok. as far as your cv's, not sure what to tell you except for to go to a place that does inspections and ask them. if it is going to be a problem, keep asking until someone will let it slide. there is a place in N. Raleigh i've gone to, its like, Oil Change USA i think, the guys in there don't care about much of anything. they passed my blue bulbs and tires with very low tread. they even commented on how much they liked my lights and intake... i believe their comment was "if they sell it in the store it must be legal". so go around Garner and just ask around, you'll find someone willing to let you slide.

Thanks man, yeah I think there are alot of places around here like that, people must get away with their mirror/limo tint somehow. Where do you have blue bubs?

You have blue headlights and you havent been pulled? My conering lights are blue but since i did the brightness modd they give off a white light surrouded by blue. What kind of lights do you have in your interior?

hyperwhites in the gauges and in the doors, but the gauge lights are not blue at all... they are just really bright white... looks better than stock i think, but doesn't stand out too much. i had some blue ones, but it was kinda ugly. there was no contrast... the needles needed to be a different color; maybe i'll get indiglo needles or reversed gauges; and no, i've never had any problems with my lights, they aren't too blue, it just depends on the angle you are looking from, but i had those really dark blue ones in for more than a year and had no problems. i just changed them b/c i wanted something to match my headlights
