GMC Typhoon VS. Maxima

My buddy has a GMC Typhoon which is possibly the greatest car known to man. I'm a big GMC fan but don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nissan products, especially the Maxima. Anyways, my buddy's Ty isn't working well so I thought this to be the ideal opportunity to race him. We went to a light on a race strip down town where I live and away we went. As soon as the light turned, he had the pull on me by like 2 cars. Damned AWD, turbo vehicles! I launched without wheel spin and I think that gave me the advantage. As soon as I pulled into 2nd gear I flew by him and as I looked over at him I saw the sadness in his eyes. He has a muscle car that has class 5 insurance and I toasted him. I gloated a bit to him but he demands a re-race when his Ty is running well. I said I'd think about it, I already won so there doesn't have to be another race. We laughed and drove home.

Isn't working well? Like what? Two cylinders shut off and the turbo is blown?

Be sceptical, I would be. His IC isn't working at all and his turbo is about to go. Other than that it was like racing a jimmy extreme. Kinda' funny but seriously true.

How does an Intercooler NOT work? There is no mechanical features. Is it leaking? Hoses leaking?? Oh well.

The IC in Typhoons are liquid. His is filled but the IC pump is not wired correctly thus causing IC failure. I have raced him at least 10 times and this was the very first time I had ever had him. The other races he took me by over a second. Either way, I'm stoked for the win and even more stoked to race again.

I don't understand why you feel good about the win, but to each his own I guess. I hope he gets the truck fixed soon....

I hope it gets fixed too 'cause I have spent days on in working on that damned thing and still no luck. Why wouldn't I feel good about winning? When a person has a muscle car like the Typhoon and the driver is *hit-talking and the opposing racer knows the car is weak, I'd say a win is better than a loss (obviously).

Ahh...so he was slangin' some while his truck wasn't 100%, eh? Okay, now I see where you are coming from.

Maybe he needs new muffler bearings! Or, he could need to replace the intercooler throwout bearing and pads...
