Must be nice gaining hours on the wheel huh?

Seriously though, the dyno sheet on Injen's website is slightly inaccurate IMHO since it was done in the wrong gear for the 6spd Max.

Not too many of us have this intake. If anything you should be telling us why you think it's the best intake. What good is our opinion when all we've seen so far are pics? It's really shiney

Shady's mentioned the shipping to be $15... so it's definitely cheaper.

The one thing I see it has going for it (aside from looking very nice) is the folling:

"each kit comes equipped with hardware, vibra-mounts and CNC machined brackets that are tig welded to each intake for a perfect show-quality fit every time."

Isn't Vibration the going theory for MAF sensors failing? Would Vibra-Mounts help cut down on this and preventing premature MAF failures?

i've already lost one maf with the injen. it gave out at 2500 rpm in second under light acceleration so i'm suspect of the vibration theory. i'm starting to think that it might be quick changes in air pressure and humidity. any thoughts?

I think it is a faulty design. I too blew a MAFS and noticed the new one they put in is differnet looking than the old one. The actual design of the part in the MAF is not the same. Hopefully this one will be better.

I agree with you, TellschMax02. Vibration may be a contributing factor, but I doubt it's the primary cause of the problem. After all, MAFs are failing with OEM intakes, and vibration is not a factor with those.

no way, really? how do you tell the difference? this is potentially very good news. i'll go disassemble the whole thing right now to find out which one mine is.

Since I am on my third one - I wanted to take a look and see what, if anything, is different. The first 2 were identical looking, but this new one (1 week old) is a little different. Nothing drastic, but the outside of the sensor and the general design is a little different.

I am guessing this a result of that TSB. I actually feel somewhat confident on this one - not sure why, but I do.

i don't have the first one so i can't tell if the second one is redesigned but whatever way it's fine because i paid for it and it's covered under a 12 months parts warranty. the only thing that will suck is breaking down on the interstate.

I don't recall who posted it, but a while back one member attached a sketch of how his old and new MAF sensor looked like.

Whoever you are, kindly post it again. Thanks

Ok. This explains what a MAF is (Thanks y2kse).

This is the drawing/sketch that akrus made to compare the new and old MAF.

Your after-market CAI may affect you by emptying your wallet and frustration by taking your car to the dealer if/when your MAF fails. It seems like quite a few people with CAI and other intakes are having their MAF fail. It goes between your air filter and engine and measures the air flow and other things to your engine. If they fail, you are looking at $600 if the dealer will not cover the part and labor. Make sure to switch your stock airbox back if it happens before taking it in and you may get lucky.

Search to find that out. As for the MAF, if they can't prove you have aftermarket intake, which they can't if you bring it in stock without the aftermarket in the trunk, under the 3 year 36k warranty you're fine.
