brake glaze? is this normal or such a thing?
Earlier today I saw one of my dad's mechanics who works also on race cars at a speedway by his place, he drove my car and said that over time any non-metallic brake pad will develop brake glaze, giving the illusion that my brake pads are worn & noisy, while he checked and drove it (btw both the mechanic & my dad loved the power & handling of my SE) & said that my brake pads & rotors are fine & can still go several miles, just that now and then during very light driving they will develop a glaze, so he "warmed" the brakes up & did his tests (60-0 stopping, etc..) to remove the glaze and said everything is fine. ? is, is there such a thing and has this happened to any of you guys before?
