I believe this is a new tail light question

I'm looking to either slightly tint the lens of the cleared out portions of my lights(turn sig, back up light everything)or completely remove the clear pieces. I know about the turn sigs but has anybody here ever screwed with the back up light in regards to taking it apart. Also, are there any legal repurcutions to this. Yes I searched and I couldn't find JACK. Thanks for your help.

well if you look for how to clear tail lights, that will tell you about how to take the light assembly apart. I am not sure about the tinting, but several members here have done it...it looks pretty cool.

Erica's got you covered if you want to go the clear turnsignal route >>

But, if you want to tint, then go to Jeg's and look for NiteShades by VHT. This enamel, when sprayed in metered portions will allow you to tint as light or dark as you want. The finish will be slightly dull, so if you want to achieve that glossy look, buy a can of Testor's Model Enamel clearcoat and apply after the tint enamel is completely dry.

You mean like this?

Contact Dave B (Note: Not DAVEB)on the board here. He's the owner of this Maxima with the tinted rear lights. He used a spray tint that is specifically made for this application...the more coats you use, the darker. I think it looks pretty nice, especially when a lighter coat is used.

Thanks

I appreciate all the reponses and I will apply all info. Now how do you think this will look on a white Max. I have also gotten instructions from UncleMax on how to correctly paint the inside area of my headlights. For those who don't know who I'm talking about, Check him out. IMO his Max is one of the nicest I've seen.

Here's his website http://www.unclemax.bizland.com/homepage.htm
