Stillen Air Intake vs K&N

Hello all,
I need opinions, which is better for my 2001 gxe, stillen air intae or k&n. I hear that the stillen is very loud? I do not want my car sounding like a noisey pain in the butt. Is it really that loud. What would be the benifits of the Stillen vs. K&N.

Thank You

The Stillen intake uses a K&N filter.

What I am trying to find out is should I remove my stok intake box and replace it with a stillen air intake kit or should I just use a k&n drop in? Which would be the best? Like I said I do not want my car to sound too loud.
Thanks

My two cents: I've pretty much tried them all and have always ended up coming back to OSCAI.

Go with the Stillen!

I have a Stillen Hi-Flow Intake and love it. Its not loud at all until you step on it and at WOT it sounds SWEET! Gains are around 3HP max and you do feel the kick at higher rpm's! Check out my homepage for some pics!

If I was you I would check out berktuning and buy a K&N with an adapter for 55$ unless you want to spend well over 100$ on the Stillen which will do the same job.

There is a little added piece of mind with buying Stillen due to the fact that they are an authorized dealer for Nissan and your dealership wont hassle you about aftermarket upgrades. The berk tuning intake is a GREAT deal though for sure!

i don't think that's true about the dealer.the only intake that are legal to the dealer is a drop in filter, not a cone....i had the Stillen Intake. I paid $177, used it for only one day and then i got rid of it. It was burning more gas, big loss in low end power, but gain in top end . I like my fast low end pull, so i went back to K & N drop in which works almost close to the stock one, but gives like 3 more horses. My exhaust now have a nice tone and i feel the difference ..

Your statement is both untrue and misleading, Lou. The Stillen Intake is not C.A.R.B. approved for 5th Gen Maximas and will probably void your warranty in the event of an intake-related failure such as a blown MAF sensor.

To the best of my knowledge, the ONLY aftermarket intake for 5th Gen Maximas that has been submitted for C.A.R.B. approval is the Injen CAI. And even after it receives C.A.R.B. approval . . . assuming that it actually does receive C.A.R.B. approval . . . it may still void your warranty.

Before giving advice, you may want to do a little more research from now on.
