Got the money
Alright well luckily I jus got a new job that is payin real good money. SInce im only a senior in HIgh school I want a newer car. I currently have a 1990 Blck. SE with about 182000 miles on it. I know for a fact the car wont be lasting me much longer or even if it does for a lil bit it wont be worth modding it at all. So I am now to the conclusion on what to get for a new car. I am really looking for a fast car but still looks nice. My choices that I have been coming up with are:
1. Nissan Maxima SE 97-99 5 spd
2. Mitsubishi Eclipse 97 -99 GSX AWd turbo 5spd
3. Infiniti G20 97-99 5 spd
The question is, I love maxima's but dont wanna be payin an arm and a leg for mods. Ill probaly get the car in florida since they have such nice cars and deals. I jus wanna know whats reliable and what is worth spending my money on. Honestly and If u have any other suggestions for cars please add it to. But remember I am a student and dont haVE enormous funds so anything u guys can think of will help.

As far as the eclipse, it is fast but my friend has a GS-T and he has had to put at least 5-6 thousand in it to keep it running. The engine blew the tranny gave out the clutch broke etc. etc. and it only had 59,000 miles when these things started happening. Not a very reliable car in my opinion though the GSX may be better made then the GS-t (not likely though).
Cant go wrong with a max!

i think that the max is the best choice. its a bigger 4 door more comfortable car that can still move better than most on the street. i think that they look better that the others also. the infinity is tight but they are kind of small for me. unless you want to save money on gas and get the four banger. i am almost positive that there is a nice turbo setup for that car so you can make it pretty fast. i personally have always had a hard time deciding between a newer max and a B5 passat(98-2001.5) pASSats are maximas are the two best sedans out there i think, under 30K of course.

senior too, and I have a 92 Se stock max with 110,000 miles on it. I have alrady shopped around for a new car, and like every1 else, I'm hooked on the Max. My dad works for a big chrysler dodge dealership down here in FL, so I went to the nissan dealership and the salesman knew my dad. I told him what I wanted and he said that they can go to an auction or whereever and get it for my.. I am getting a 99 Max SE-L 5 spd black leather interior, prob black exterior, all for like 14,499 or something like that. It is just under 15,000 . I am going to finance it under my name and my parents since i am under 18 and pay about the same that I am paying now $300/month and pay off my 99 pretty soon. not as soon as my 92 (like 6 more months) but soon enough. Later

Just my 2 cents....
If you are from the South, look for a car with tan leather interior. You'll thank me for it in August. I have a 93 SE that is black on black and it gets very hot inside. I have legal limit on tinting and it still burns my legs with shorts on.....

FYI...G20 was not made in 97 and 98.
They came back in production in 99.
Very nice car but on the small side.
Great reliability though!
Ex gf had a 95 and it was very nice.
Go with the max if you want to mod.
I recently sold my 92 SE 5 and was looking for a 2000 SE.
But my parents decided to get a new car and I bought their 97 Lexus ES 300. Very nice car but not performance oriented.

One car that you may want to consider is the Integra GSR. I am loving my car... it's surprisingly quick and a ton of fun to drive. Just test drive one, and I think you'll agree.
IMHO Mitsubishi is garbage... last mitsu I drove reminded me of an early 90's Dodge. (2002 Galant) Another car that I've found that is really fun is the 97+ Prelude Type SH. I wouldn't get the G20 unless you plan on seriously modding the SR20DE... (GREAT motor to modify, but a little boring in stock form). The Maxima isn't a bad choice and I was considering a newer max (like you) when I got my GSR. Basically I decided that I didn't need the extra room of the full size 4 door, integra should get better gas mileage (I average 27mpg), and IMHO the integra is "sportier". Another car that you might consider if you really want to go upscale with PLEANY of power... would be a 93 - 94 Lexus SC400, or SC300 even. SC300 can be found with a 5spd (SC400 is automatic only) and you can modify the 300 with a lot of the Supra mods. (Same engine as the Mk IV N/A Supra).
Just some ideas...
