for those with 2k+ Max 17"s

I got my hands on a set of 2003 Maxima 17's for $200 with only 700miles on them. I am about to buy the rubber for them and was wondering what size of tire to put on my '98 GLE. I did some research and came to the conclusion that most of the people with this set up have 225/45 17. My question is if that is correct, or would it be better to go with 215/45 17's. Thanks for your input!

Both of those sizes are too small. 225-50-17 would be the correct size. But tire choices are limited. I guess 225-45 is okay, abeit slightly small.

225-50-17 on mine... Saw 45's in person... a bit small.

I would still go 225/45/17 if only for the tire selection. 225/50/17 don't come in anything good or cost a fortune.
