what you guys gettin for gas mileage??
what you guys gettin for gas mileage??
I thought i was getting some bad gas mileage so i decided to keep track of how many miles i'm gettin to compare it to others.so yesterday i filled up (about 13 gallons) and i'm down to 3/4 tank and 51 miles with the a/c on all the time. 80% of it is highway and my car has a stillen intake, and catback. i wanna wait and see how many miles i get on the entire tank. i just wanted you guys to post your approx. mpg's and what we can do to improve mpg. heres what i got in mind.
-oxygen sensor
-fuel filter
-synthetic oil
-fuel treatment every 3000k
-replace old spark plugs
What else??????????????

In my 5-spd SE, I get about 10 kms per 1 litre. That is 24 mpg city only with the a/c on for about 80% of the time. I haven't really calculated what my mileage is on the highway. I do know that if my a/c is off I get another 1 mpg or so.
Oh yeah, I have a lead foot too... especially in 1st and 2nd gear.

i'm getting around 17 mpg city and 24 highway.. but this is around NYC so I'm a firm believer that NYC highways are much like city driving anywhere else
traffic is unavoidable for the most part.

Re: what you guys gettin for gas mileage??
Don't drive over 60-65mph, that will boost your mpg. When was the last time you checked your gas cap and tire pressure? Make sure the cap makes a hissing sound when removed.

I get dismal mileage in the city, like 16mpg. But on the highway I get around 25-26mpg. However, if there is any mixed driving, i.e. any city driving at all, my freeway mileage is ruined by my poor city mileage.
So in the end, with 50/50 driving, I get around 19-20mpg.

But I think depending on your driving habits and the tread wear on your car, if you monitor it, you can set the tire pressures accordingly.
