Power steering blipped out on me tonight

Sorry to post such an individual problem, but I do have a question.

I was in 1st gear, driving through my parking lot, when the power steering dropped out for 5 seconds, then came back. It kinda freaked me out since I didn't know if I had just busted something or not. But, after that, the steering seemed fine.

Question: Is there any connection between the power steering and which gear you are in? For example, if you are going too slow in 2nd gear it is hard on the steering? Thanks!

Check your PS fluid level... then your PS belt tension.

if ur on the vurge of stalling u will notice the power steering going. if u are at .5k or lower on the tach u will probably feel it as well.

it has to do with the speed you are traveling. it should be variable speed senstive or something like that. the gear you are in does nothing to stress out your steering.
