94 Civic(B16) vs 98 Max

My friend has a four door B16 Civic, and only has an intake and MSD ignition kit. Me on the other hand am a 98 Auto Max with intake and full exast. He wants to race me and says he will rape me in the 1/4 mile. Do you think I will beat him if I race?

I do not know much about civics...but I am almost sure that the 4 doors dont come with the b16 engine...unless he did an engine swap..i think they got the normal 1.6 engine in them

You have something that the B16 does not have TORQUE. Those engine make all of their power in the upper powerband. Plus that car is a 4dr.

You've obviously never seen a quick civic.

If your friend is a good driver, he should beat you. If not, you can probably beat him. B16A in a 4 door civic is probably good for 15.0 with me driving.

b16 hybrid civic against you... will probably beat you since you are auto.

this is ASSUMING he can drive and doesn't have a heavy *** stereo weighing down the civic.

He did the B16 motor swap and he can drive good. But when we went to the track his old engine in his civic was pulling low 18's.

that's cuz the stock D series motors in the civics are WEAK.

any civic that does NOT have a engine swap is very very slow...

exceptions to this rule are ppl who have turbo'ed their stock D series motors.. though most ppl don't do this because it's not economical

Not all B16s feel weak down low. My buddy had a 89 hatch with a B16, LSD tranny, header, catback, CAI, no rear seat, and light 15s. The car tipped the scales at 2020lbs. Believe me, that car didn't lack a lowend punch The 89 hatch was FAR more torquey than my other friends 99 Si. My buddy sold the 89 and bought a 98 hatch and added a 5 psi Greddy turbo to the D16. Now that car is fun. It looks completely like a black JDM Civic Type R and that turbo "pssst" is to die for. I still don't think it will beat me though
