How long does it take to swap a front bumper?

I'm getting my 97+ bumper this wednesday and I'm debating if I should try to do it during that evening. If it takes less them a couple of hours, I'll probaly do it. I've got a FSM and am fairly mechanically inclined. Whaddya guys think?

For your first time, it may take anywhere from 1-3 hours TOPS. That is if you take your time, learn everything, and don't misplace any of the parts. Good luck. It is easy.

Took me about a couple hours to rip apart the old front end completely and put in new grill, headlights, bumper, and install oem fogs...

Ok, here's a few questions from a newbie:

How much does a new 97+ front bumper cost?
How much do the stock foglights cost?
Can you buy the bumper prepainted or do you have to have it painted before installation?
Does the grill have to be converted to the 97+ style too, or can my 1996 grill fit above the new bumper?
Lastly, where can I order these parts from?

Thanks.

Courtesy Nissan in Texas can supply all of this...

I'm not sure on prices it's been a while, but here is a ballpark...

Bumper cover - $160 (I painted myself)

Foglights - $200 for the set

You need a 97+ grill

Don't rush yourself or give yourself any time constraints. If that means waiting for Saturday, then wait. I'd give yourself around 4 hours. Good luck.

Can the same bumper reinforcement bar and absorber be used with the new bumper?

It's the other way around. '97/'99s have the extra reinforcing bar and '95/'96s do not. What do you mean by 'absorber'? The styrofoam(sp.?)? Yes, you can use the same one.
