Have you ever been driving along and look down at the dash and ..
I was driving along and the whole dashboard was dead. No fuel, no tach, no speedo, no heat, no odo, nothing. Did a search a didn't see anything about it. I am suppose to be getting on the road Wed. Is it something that could be done without going to the shop, or is it an electrical challenge that needs to be tended to ???

Have you thought about the alternator? On some of todays newer ars, all of the gauges are completely electrical in their movement. I don;t know about the maximas, but a friend of mine's malibu did the same thing and his alternator was doing its own thing-was charging too low so he bought another alternator and issue resolved.

Well went to the shop, they said the would have to do a diagnostics on it. I told them I would come back. I'm going to have to trigger the code again. I don't remember what it was, and of course it's not doing it anymore. We'll see.

If the entire dash dies intermittently, sounds like a ground wire to me. If your local shop doesn't find the problem, I would take apart the dash and follow the ground connections and check them. I think they all run to one main ground wire somewhere.
