My A/C turns on when I have the defroster on.

when I put the defroster on tonight I noticed that the A/C was on with it. The A/C button was not green or pushed in. Is this a special thing. I know it turns off when I put the vents on because the air is warm and mildew smell from them.

I tried finding this drain hole but still can't
