Think this setup is ok?
Think this setup is ok?
I decided to go with copper plugs. stock heat range. I gapped them at .040 (Mods are: Ypipe/stock cat/apexi ws/cai-hybrid w/monster flow/and venom 400 pcm which apparently doesnt do anything according to others, it was just waaaaaay cheap! I do feel a surge when the led lights up)
I know we should run 1 to 2 step colder depending on the shot. I stayed with the stock heat range since I'll only run the 55 shot till I make sure everything is cool. It friggin cold out and I dont have a heater yet either.
I wont lose any NA power this way. It already runs smoother and seems to eek out more power since I tossed the 60$ platinums. Its not like it will cost me a zillion dollars to get colder coppers....they are dirt cheap as you all know.
Thanks!

BTW, the reason why you are running smoother with the coppers in as opposed to the plats is probably due to the plats needing changing and just running better on ANY newer plug. The coppers are better when running juice due to bigger strap, cheaper to replace, and less prone to blow out. Among a few things.
Good luck, and always remember to keep an eye on the gauges when spraying.

Yeah I figured just new plugs in general would be an improvement. The plats were in since the 60k tune up. 40k ago
100k on it now, which is why I'm concerned about the fuel pump.I'll definately watch the gauges. Since its cold and crappy and I dont have a heater yet I'll get the egt gauge first off. I got the zex bottle mount gauge for now, which is accurate just not as convienent.
Thanks for your reply!

Re: Re: Think this setup is ok?
Jaime, speaking gauges...... I want the phantom 2 1/16 egt one. I know gaugeman.com has them for 108 + shipping. Would you know if that was with the probe? I know someone from here has purchased gauges from them. I really need that gauge before I spray....from all the n20 info and posts I've gathered that using that gauge aside from plug reading is a sure fire way to tell you are running safely.....
Aaron
P.S. Anyone have a EGT up for sale? I checked the forum. I do like the greddy ones
