I have also seen them purge from the grill area for show but you cannot see the nitrous as it comes out of the line.

If you are referring to the actual purge line, for convenience sake it is easy to set it up so it sprays right in front of the windshield. This way you can tell when you have purged the line by the appearance of what comes out.

I am going to be installing my kit finally right after the Christmas holiday. I will be purging right in front of the passenger side windshield.

when you run the wet kit, it doesn't send gas through the purge line too does it? How do you know that your gas solenoid pressure is ready to go?

The purge valve is not to check if your ready to go or not. It is to eliminate the warm nitrous from the bottle to the nitrous solenoid to ensure it is cold and fresh.
Even though you get nitrous through the purge it doesn't mean that the nitrous solenoid will open any more than you can know for sure the fuel solenoid will open.
One thing NX does (that I am sure NOS and ZEX will eventually copy) is to have the nitrous flow through the main nitrous solenoid to the purge valve so it actually cools the main solenoid too.

There is no fuel in the purge line.

Thanks Jime. I now have new understandings about nitrous. One day i will be like you and have nitrous in my automatic.
