Help Quick Please!! :(

I installed a NX kit and im down to troubleshooting.....the problem is, for some reason, the nitrous sprays even when its not armed or anyhting....i hooked up the bottle, and told my buddy to open it real slow....so he did, but as soon as he did i hear leakage and noise coming from the intake...so i took the midpipe off, took the nozle out...and told my friend to open the bottle again, so i can see if it is actually leaking or not form the actual nozzle..and sure enough...it was spraying from the nozle...for some reason...

i dont know the problem.. maybe the solenoid is stuck in the open posistion??, and isnt holding the pressure...what do u guys think it can be?? Wheres Jime when u need him .

all the wiring seems to be correct and the connections are all correct.

any help would be great
thanks guys

I'd call NX. I hear they have EXCELLENT customer service. Sorry I can't help more, but I'd also post this in the General forum, if you haven't already.

My LONG shot guess(stabbing in the dark here!) is that you wired the soleniod wrong and it is energized, ie open. If you have a volt meter, I'd test it to make sure it's not energized or disconnect the ground wire and see if you can HEAR/FEEL the solenoid close.

im calling as soon as they open. I really think its almost impossible to wire the solenoid incorrectly. One wire grounds and the other attaches to the the relay, green wire.. i duno whats wrong =[ i dont have a voltmeter but i may get one tomorrow

if i disconnect the ground, is it suppose to click? what if it does/doesnt?

thanks

nitrous solenoids don't specify a power and a ground im pretty sure. the two wires that some out off each solenoid are the same. correct????

I don't want to give you wrong info here that could DAMAGE something, since I have NO experience here.

I was simply suggesting that if your solenoid is energized, ie open, and you disconnect the negative wire(or positive for that matter) the relay would close. If your solenoid is receiving BOTH positive and negative, then it will energize and allow N20 to flow.

Isn't there 2-solenoids on the NX kit? Can you try swapping them and see if it happens with the other?

Again these are just a suggestion, so please don't do anything you'll regret!

Not sure, but that is probably correct. All you need is current flow to energize the solenoid, so either direction should work.

Solenoids can be any one of numerous types, but if you break the path to ground by disconnecting either the positive or negative terminal it will close as long as it's a normally closed type.

i think i figured it out.

i hooked up the nitrous solenoid wrong. i flip floped the purge port and the nitrous to the nozzle port thats probably why he is leaking nitrous cause there is suppose to be a purge solenoid there or it sould be sealed. stupid me. i will fix the problem tomorrow.

stupid me sould have paid more attention to the instructions.

I hope that's it.

BTW, that tells you how much I know about N20.

Sorry I went to bed early.

Yes the nitrous to the nozzle is out the bottom, the one out the side is the purge.

They put the purge after the solenoid so that even the solenoid gets purged.

They are marked on the solenoid as well as the instructions.

jime, i wired everything correctly, ,my purge isnt working =[
when i hit the button, the solenoid clicks so everything seems perfect. It doesnt seem like its even trying to spray...

i called NX and they told me to send them the purge =[

do u have any ideas on what it may be?

thanks!

also, for the fuel/air ratio gauge, what wire on the o2 sensor am i suppose to tap into?

Could be a bad solenoid I guess. I would probably take it off and hook it up to a 12v source and see if you can blow through it when its activated, that will tell you for sure.

Make sure you don't hold the solenoid (any solenoid) open for more than 20 secs or your warranty is void, it will burn or scorch the electro magnet.

I don't have an A/F gauge so I can't help you there. I just ran with an EGT last year and this year I have an S-AFC II and a pocket logger to install yet.
