Slicks

Anyone have any experience with slicks? I want to put a pair on the 15-inch saw blades, because im rolling on a pair of 17s. I hear things like I need to be careful witch kind and size I get because it will change my gear ratios? Can I get some help? I own a 96 max, 5 speed, with Intake, Y pipe, cat back, and 100 shot.

Thanks
-Chris

Dont use sawblades. Use the millenia wheels. I think they are lighter. I think you may need small slicks like a 23-24". But what do I know, talk to guys that can run simulations. Like neal.

I ran sawblades with 24" RM slicks and a 75 shot. It was good enough to net me a 13.1@105

24 " means that the tire is 24 inches tall. if youre going to put them on a 15 inch wheel, you should look for a 225/60/15 or so. the middle number is the amount of sidewall the tire has. the more sidewall, the more flex meaning more traction. since you are fwd, you really dont need to worry about that. id go with a fairly small sized tire up front.

Slicks are not sized like normal tires. The usual measurements are like 22x8x15 which is the height, tread width and rim size.

If you get into drag radial or cheater slicks then that is a different thing altogether.

Check these out.

Everything I used is from my 95, the wheels are Kosei K1 7x15's which I bought used for $150. The only real extra stuff I had to buy were the exhaust and Illumina's.
