Bad to leave nitrous bottle open all the time??

Does it affect bottle pressure or the nitrous itself?
I usually leave the bottle open 24/7..... wondering if it's a good idea to leave it closed? (just a hassle since i dont have a remote opener)

It does put stress on your solenoids, plus if you have any leaks at all, even very small ones you will lose your n2o over time. Most nitrous companies recommend you close the bottle after each run.

I usually turn mine on at the track and leave it on because I am trying to control the pressure more closely but I do turn it off when I am finished. Of course mine is easy to turn off in the front seat.

Would you spend 100 bucks for the convenience of not having to get out and open the bottle when you want to run? Or is it easier to rebuild selenoids and replace those really cheap[sarcasm] braided lines?

You can do a remote switch for 100 bucks or less. It definately worth it in my book.

The other thing to remember (and this happened to me) is that if your solenoid ever starts leaking and you leave your bottle on, you'll get a nice high rev and clanking when you start up.

It's not really a good idea whenever you have something fairly high pressure to leave the pressure built up in the line. Your line might be stainless steel but the gaskets in the solenoids aren't.

The lines aren't even true SS. Its just a tight weave of braided sleaving that slips over a hose. If the hose has continuous pressure it will stress and leak. To have complete piece of mind one could get a hydrolic hose company to fab up some lines that will far exceed the capacity of the nitrous lines. The beauty in that is the fab'd up lines are normally cheaper that the store bought nitrous braid.
