questions on other's a/f graphs

I have gottem my LM1 going and have found some curious results. Before I start programming the afc, I wanted to share to make sure I don't do something stupid. All of my runs at WOT produce nearly the same results in gears 2-4, but 1st shows me a much leaner condition. In 1st gear WOT climb I get 15.58:1@3900rpm, 2-3 & 4 gets 11.66:1@3900rpm. My question is if I program accordingly start with Ne0@3900rpm and work my way up to Ne11@6100 and correct for the 11.66, won't that cause me problems in first? I have my Thrtl Position set to 39%-40% as suggested. I'm afraid of when I'm racing at the track and gunning it in 1st. Do I start at a higher rpm where it's safer in first?

I don't usually even check in 1st gear but I do compare 2nd and 3rd. 3rd is where I really tune though because that is where you are going to blow something, the time spent in 1st is so small in comparison.

Here is one of mine from last year, you can see the first part of 1st is pretty high in co mparison to 2nd and 3rd.

Hey thanks for the info man. I had heard this from someone else as well so I proceeded to tune based on 2nd 'ish' but more 3rd gear readings than anything else. I posted the results here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=411027
