quick spark plug questions

Time for new spark plugs but thinking of trying out Zex kit in the future. I know running nitrous system require colder step plugs. Would there be problem if I run 1 step colder plugs while NA? (so I won't have to replace plugs again if I get the kit)

i hear you may lose a lil power using 1 step colder plugs N/A, But i have my Denso Iridium 1 step colder plugs and i didnt feel a difference when running N/A. But i only changed them because i have the zex wet kit, if your not looking into getting nitrous then i would suggest you get the same heat range as stock....

I just picked up 2 step colder plugs, and planning on changing them this Saturday. They are the NGK Iridium Plugs. I'll let you know if I feel any difference NA vs Spraying. I got these because Jime runs them and seems to have good results. He stated that they don't burn up as fast as copper does. So we'll see, and I'll keep you informed.

i installed my 2 step colder ngk iridiums this weekend when i got my nx kit put in and i feel the car better maybe cause my plugs were the old stock platinum plugs i dont think it makes a difference i actually feel like it did the car some good probably cause my other plugs had 67000 miles on them but if your getting nitrous you should get them cause its a pain to change them again later.

Right now I'm running 75 with no colder plugs. Worst even, I'm using the stock platinum..... No harm will be done with being careful. 75 shot with 1 step will be fine.

ok now my other question is if I do get the 1 step colder plugs, do I still need to re-gap them?

For 1 step colder I would gap them about 34-35. My 2 step colder will be brought down to 38 from 40. The Factory gap of 39-43. Someone with 1 step colder might be able to chime in as to what theirs is gapped to.

So even OEM replacement plugs need re-gaping?

Most of the time, the OEM are gapped to specs. but you want to check to make sure. It's not that hard to do, and saves time and money down the road to check the gap before you drop them in.

Do you notice any difference in performance while running your green sparkplugs?

Not really, it just means i'm running too hot. I'm not going to take chances. Until I get a header and do fuel system upgrade I won't spray again. I haven't sprayed since May. Don't take chances because it will kill your motor.
