How do you run fuel from a fuel cell without running any fuel from fuel tank??

See title. And without disconnecting any hoses to switch between the 2.

For instance If I want to go to the track and want to run higher octane without putting it in my gas tank.

Here is how I do it on a returnless system by opening one valve and closing another. You will have to figure out how to modify for a return setup but it will take another valve or two.

so you are saying I can run 91 octane from the fuel tank and 100+ from the fuel cell that only goes to the fuel solenoid without tapping the fuel line. Is that possible????

The problem with putting 100+ octane in the fuel tank is that it will mix with regular fuel and I plan to run a very high shot. So I need all the high octane I can get because the timing can't be retarted.

That is the way I usually run mine, fuel from the tank and fuel solenoid from the fuel cell. However the way I have it set up I can also run the engine as well as the fuel solenoid from the fuel cell or I can run tank fuel to the fuel solenoid too.

If you just use the cell for the fuel solenoid the cost of fuel is reduced dramatically as well. I just buy one 2 gal contained at the start of the year and it lasts the season. Sure beats mixing it in the tank.

Then that is what i'll do. What kind of pump can I use on the fuel cell and will a fpr be requared for the fuel cell?

Look at my drawing again. It shows a 255 Walbro External and I am using the Accufab universal FPR both from http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/.

If you just want to use it for the nitrous just eliminate the line going to valve "B" and it will just feed the nitrous solenoid.

Fitting the 1 gal fuel cell was a chore, the only place I found it would fit is in the cavity where the CAI filter would go and I placed it there on both my 95 and 2k2. Probably not the safest place but I have a line connected to the outlet of the pump which will empty the cell to a fuel can when not in use.

The picture and the drawing help a lot. Thanks.

Also even with the fuel cell do I still need to run a higher flow fuel pump for the car's fuel tank to run a 100+ shot?

And what is the psi that you set the fuel cell fpr?

You can just run the stock pump for the car's tank because its only supplying for the engine just like stock. You also don't need much of a pump for just nitrous either, I got the 255 because I wanted to have the capability to run the car and nitrous from the cell.

My fpr is set for 52 on the 2k2 but I had it set at 43-45 for my 4th Gen.
