is this true? retard timing on 3.5 for 75 shot?

i really dont believe everything on google so i had to thread this one.
i went to a performance shop the other day to inquire about a nitrious set up.
you guys already gave me some good ideas and i appreciate it, but.....
i was hopin to run 75 shot if not then higher.
he told me i could only do 50 shot because i have my timing advanced to 17'.
he said in order for me to run 75 or higher then i would have to retard my timing. in other words bring it down to about 14.
i was a little lost as to why this needs to be done to the 3.5's
i dont think he knows too much about nissan's period.

does anyone on here have a simular mod set up like mine and running higher than 75? dynoed? how much dd u put down? and do i have to bring back the timing to be safer on the motor????

thanks,
and keep the bull**** answers to yourselves.

Stock timing or slightly retarded is better. You don't want to run nitrous with advanced timing. Not even a 50 shot.

I have gone up to 100 shot with stock timing no issues. You should put it back to stock tho definately.

advance timming + lots of nitrous = engine swap

I am running a 100shot with stock timing, but correct me if I am wrong but less your using some form of em the advance timing is only your base timing anyway

me and another org member(MDeezy) installed the vafc2 today.
i dont have a wideband so i cant really tune it.
i have to take it to a shop. they gave me a flat rate of 250 to install the 75 shot and tune it with the vafc2.
usually most places around here that have dynos charge anywhere from 100-150 per hour on the dyno machine.
