UPDATE:
Sorry for the delays guys. I made some phone calls and scoured the internet and it seems that NOBODY sells these rims anymore. They were discontinued. I tried all the major sources, even Ebay to find one used. NO LUCK!
So basically you are just getting four tires here for 17 x 7" rims. These were the cheapest 17" tires I could find at the time ($69 per tire). They have about 1/2 their life left in them. Decent dry traction (nothing special), just acceptable in wet weather, terrible in anything snowy or icy or muddy - they just slide in those conditions.
So, lets start this again. Does anybody need 4 TIRES for 17x7" rims that you already own? Sorry to deceive you guys, I genuinely thought that replacement rims would be a possibility. Driving forever on the bent rim is not a terribly good idea.
To clarify, I am definitely trying TO GET RID OF these - RIMS AND ALL. I'm just warning you that you are only getting 3 good rims. One is bent significantly. They have been sitting in my storage room since last winter.
Hi Folks,
I've outgrown these 17" rims and tires. I'll be moving away from the boy-racer look and going back to a boring, but more respectable stock look. These should fit almost any year Maxima, Altima or other car with the same bolt-pattern.
** If all of the rims were true, I'd sell them for a few bucks, but I don't feel right taking money for them since one of the rims is not completely true. More details below **
One of the four rims has some significant *curb rash* from hitting a curb pretty hard when we had some snow last year. According to the local tire guys, the tire is just fine but the rim is bent (aka out-of-round). They put that rim on the back of the car and the vibration I was getting (during hard cornering) disappeared. But yeah, one rim may is not completely true anymore. Put that one on the *rear* if you use it. Or you can replace it.
Rims: X-wheels brand
model: X-5
Link: X-Wheels X-5
These are inexpensive, generic branded rims. Nothing valuable.
Tires: Nanking NS-1
I'd estimate the tires have about 8k miles on them. I use snow tires from November to March - aside from that one idiotic incident where I put them on later than I should have and curbed one of the rims. You should be able to get another 8-10k miles out of them. These tires are nothing special. Slightly better traction than ordinary passenger tires when dry. Poor traction in snow. Mediocre traction in wet weather. They look sportier than they drive.
NOTE: These tires, like all sporty tires, have *zero traction * in snow. Even light snow. Do not use these in winter. Ever. That's where the curb rash came from. Even ordinary passenger tires are dramatically better in light snow. These wide, flat tires are like skis when going down hills.

Get your suspension first, we don't need another 4x4 in eastern NY.

lol...nah...I need to be a 4x4 for the winters we have up here in NY. I live in the boonies and most of the roads here get plowed last. I don't want to hassel of changing suspensions (raising the car) for the winter.Originally Posted by nearthisbridge

Anyway...let me know how the rims work out Track. I'm definitely interested and can pick them up on Saturday.
These rims look pretty bad at stock ride height due to the thin profile of the tires and rims. Busy right now, but will post photos if I get a chance before the car was lowered. And also of curb-rashed wheel. It's not noticeable from several feet away, but is apparent from up close. Not terrible though. The bigger issue is the rim being out-of-true.
I personally think the 16" SE wheels look better than these rims on the 4th gen, though the angles in my photos make them look respectable. I replaced the 15" Honeycomb wheels from the 1995 GLE, which was an improvement.
Anyone actually 'local'? I'd feel bad for you to drive that far to pick up some half-used tires and an incomplete set of rims (the fourth being bent enough to cause vibration when on the front). Especially if you've already got the 16" 5-spoke SE rims, which aren't too bad to begin with. But hey, it's not my drive.
I've been getting PMs, too. I'll let folks know what happens (i.e. who's taking them home). I haven't sorted through them yet to contact the first person who replied.

I only want them because they would make for a good full-size spare Originally Posted by TrackSmart

I can be there tonight! mwuhauhauha
The person on the 'top of the list' has been notified by private message. If that person decides to take them (and actually comes to pick them up), great. If not, we'll go to number two of those who are still interested.
I did not mean for this to be a game guys or get anyone's hopes up! I'll come back to this list if that person no longer wants them or doesn't actually pick them up. Just trying to be fair!

Sry I gotta pass..
I though I could find a replacement rim too but no such luck.. So I guess it's on to the next in line since I'm still on stock 16's and have no use 17" tires..
Thank you anyway for your generous offer Track, I'm sure even the tires will help somebody out thats on a tight budget..
