1991 Sentra SE-R $800

$800

I purchased this 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R about a month ago as a project and maybe as something to drive in the winter to keep my newer car off of the road in the snow.

I bought the SE-R from a co-worker who said that it needed a new water pump. I purchased a new (Genuine Nissan) pump and spent 10 hours replacing it and sure enough, the car runs like a top again. Since it took 10 hours of labor to do the install, I don't blame him for not wanting to do it or pay someone else $800 to do it.

As winter approaches, I think that I would be more wise to just sell this and to buy something 4x4 or AWD. I found a Jeep locally that I'd like to buy, so I am a motivated seller.

Since the purchase about a month ago, I have cleaned up the car, replaced the water pump and belts, and changed most of the fluids in the car. This was driven since it was brand new by a co-worker who used it for his commuter car since buying it brand-new. Carfax confirms that it is 1-owner (I have not yet titled it, but I have the title in hand).

The car is a 5-speed with a 2.0L (SR20DE) 4-cylinder motor. It gets 32 mpg on the highway, so it is great for comuting or for anyone who needs to save money on gas. The clutch is in great shape and the car shifts well. It accellerates like a bat out of Hades, and braking is as it should be. The car makes no funny noises.

Car has some surface rust, but I stripped the interior and there is no rust on the inside. The body is far from perfect, but I have priced it accordingly.

Other specs:
32 MPG!
Power mirrors
Manual locks
Manual windows
Power moonroof/sunroof
353K
5-speed
Kenwood CD player and Alpine front speakers
Bucket seats
New water pump, belts, recent coolant and oil changes
New (several months old) tires
Recent clutch replacement. It was about 2 years ago, but the previous owner had 5 vehicles (2 cars and three motorcycles) at the time, so there are not a lot of miles on the clutch.

Other info:
No 5th gear pop-out.
Driver's door could use some adjustment or replacement.
Rear quarter has been hastily primered.
No rust under the carpet, hood and trunk are perfect, as are the roof and passenger door. Bumpers and grille are also in great shape.

ooo man, if you were closer, this car might be sold already.

btw, is the fwd sr20 internally the same as the rwd sr20de?

i see many 200sx w/ 200k+ miles and they still seem to be going.

diff. car but yeah.

is there anything on these cars to look out for?

5th gear popout is the main problem. I don't know a LOT about the SR, but I know that a mark of 353K isn't that much of a milestone for a DD with an SR20.

It revs better then my QR25 with 76K.

Whats the mileage this is quite a deal?

I'm assuming its 353k since you said that above, but I just wanted to make sure.
