I thought I'd post this here before it goes up on ebay, price is fairly firm.

Up for sale is a brand new Apple TV upgraded with a 250GB Hard Drive (comes with 40GB stock). It has only been ran for about an hour to test functionality and to load XBMC (XBOX Media Center) & BOXEE.

This thing will play every know video/audio format know to man and is geared towards users who download tv shows and movies from news servers and torrents.

The homebrew community is just getting started with the Apple TV so there should be some great apps down the road. I personally have one and love it, all my music and tv shows are on it.

forgive me here, just want to understand how it works. You load audio/video files onto it via USB then plug it into your tv via HDMI or Component and it will play the files on your TV? Basically a portable hard drive with video outs?

 

Think of it as a all in one entertainment center. The original Apple TV was designed to only be able to purchase movies, tv shows, music from itunes.

With the upgraded hard drive and software you are now able to watch movies/tv shows/music you have downloaded on to your computer. So lets say you just downloaded last weeks episodes of American Idol, you transfer them over to apple tv to watch on your tv instead of watching them on the computer.
