Well some guy at another forum that I frequent had this to say:

This is inside information....There has been a large price reduction on a number of accessories, mainly stuff that won't fit the new models. It's not advertised......Here's what I bought today: a 6-disk in-dash cd player. Old price $427....new price $119. This is a factory unit by Clarion, model CV919. It bolts up without any extra wiring....plugs in, interfaces with your factory audio unit. It should fit most Nissans 95-2000 or so. I installed it in my 95 Sentra. The model# for the promotion is B8182-C9964PR.

Also available, a factory single cd/radio unit. Old price $307...new price $69. Model # B8182-89920PR. This deal runs through Aug 31, or until supplies run out. Most dealerts will have to order these units, normal 2/3 days with no freight.

just thought i would pass the info on for those interested...

I installed this in-dash 6-CD changer in my 96 GXE, simplest installation and perfect fit. Before this 6-CD I also oinstalled this single-CD player, also a perfect fit. Now I am about to install the single-CD player in my 94 Altima, which does not fit due to the connector. I have to cut those wires and re-connect them.
I ordered the single CD from Courtesyparts, $69 + $10.66(shipping) and after I got the part I noticed it went up to $99. My 6-CD changer was from grubbsauto.com, $119 shipped to my door. And they still have single-CD for $69.

I just went to the local nissan dealer around here and asked them to look up the part and sure enough it was on sale. here is a pic of what i believe is the unit (ripped from ebay) also, i think you might need the stock cd player to control it (the volume etc) but not sure...

Just installed one myself. Very easy. I have the non-Bose system in my 95 SE. Radio controls volume, balance, base, etc. Works great. Got mine from Grubbs Nissan in Bedford Texas, www.grubbsauto.com. They UPSed it same day. Worth the effort.

OOOOOPs! Knew I forgot something. The Clarion manual says it works for some CD-R (you have to try case-by-case) and does not play CD-RW. I don't make my own music so not a concern for me.

Earlier in this forum someone said he/she called the dealer and was told it only works with non-bose system. BTW I played my own CD-R music and it works just fine. Will try some CD-RW when I get a chance.
Yes since both the single and 6-CD are all genuine Nissan accessories, they work fully logically with the original radio.
I know some aftermarket CD players are better in sound quality and such, but to my taste the genuine part integrates much better, in terms of style, color, etc., maybe also the logic.

Installation

I ordered the single cd player.

Does anyone have instruction how to install it.

I have a 1995 Nissan Max GXE with the Wood Trim and I am afraid that I will pull too hard and break the wood trim. Can someone give me a brief detail installation. I have never installed any car stereo but have worked with lots of elctronics and I am studying computer engineering in school.

I have the am/fm/cassette player and I have an empty slot at the bottom.

Thanks, I should be getting me order maybe Friday or Monday at the latest.

I read the instruction from www.installdr.com.

This instruction was to install an entire radio system.

It looks very hard as there are too many things to remove and hence break!

All I want to do is add the cd player to my existing tape deck. Does anyone know if this requires taking the entire unit out as explained in the link above. Nissan is charging $79 plus taxes to install it but if it is easier that the above link, maybe I can save some money.

Thanks again, this site is really a life saver!

yeah i bought it from my favorite aftermarket place... home depot. it is rain gutter mesh as most have done and it was so easy and looks awesome. i could cut out the nissan symbol (the plastic part still there) but i have not yet. all it took was some patience, scissors, a bench grinder (for quick shaping of the mesh) and some wire. it is attacked super cheesy but it works... i just wrapped wire around the existing grill and the mesh and it stays in place just fine... you cannot see the wire at all(unless you are REALLY close and know where to look). the only other thing i might do is to put some small rubber tubing around the edges of the mesh so that it doesn't ever scratch the bumper.
