Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Last night I decided to try out the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the intreior of my car. I have the tan perferated leather with dark brown dash etc. I had so called "cleaned and conditioned" before with various liquids and the such. I actually thought that the color of my leather was supposed to be the shade it was. Well, I was WRONG. I used the magic erasor first on my drivers seat and watched as the black crap lifted up and adhered to the sponge, then wiped off the excess lifted dirt with a damp rag.It went from coffee to light kahki! Right before my eyes. The best part is that long cracks that we get on the outer edge of our leather almost completely disapeared, as in the black dirt that gets cought in the crevices completely came out! I have NEVER been able to acheive this, even be scrubbing! I also had a long streak/scuffmark from someones shoe that nomatter what did , simple greer/goo gone etc, never came out. This magic eraser got it out- that lone was worth the cheap price of admission. Whats more, ya know how the light tan door panels, especially by the handle get that dirt in the pores of the vinyl and gives a dark cloudy appearance in that area? Well, lets just say that my door panels look like a brand new car. I also got a new steering wheel too. I did the dash as well which i didnt think was even dirty and my dash looks amazing- just like a new car. I would equate this with claybar for your interior. You don't even know your car is dirty until you see it REALLY clean. As you use the product it disintigrates. (You will probably use about 3-4 of them to do the entire interior (less id you don't have leather) Each "erasor" as about the size of a sponge. They are cheap too! 2 dollars for a two pack. but dont use it on the black plastic part of your dash, i.e. the radio bezel and shift gate, as it states on the box that it could hurt the finish. Anyway, try it out- I think this is an awesome product especially at 2 for 2.

it works on leather and plastic nicely, but you have to put conditioner back on the leather. 3M has the same thing.

Now there's a product I should buy before I get the Maxima on the road. There's so much that needs to be cleaned, and I guess before I condition the leather, and after I clean it, I should go ahead and do that. I think I'm going to be shocked at how much comes out, due to it never really having been cleaned or conditioned prior to me having the car.

i have used it on my black leather and it totally takes off the finish... not very good for black leather imo. i tried it on my dash, leaves some kinda film on top, needs rub that out with a damp towel. makes more work for you in the long run

My girl tried this on our fridge and it worked great. I don't have leather but trying it on some of the "arm dirt" that's perpetually stuck on my (tan) door is a great idea...I'll have to try it.

I don't think that's the "finish" thats coming off, but rather the oily dirt that was embedded. You may have just thought it was the finish. And yes, you must go over it with a damp cloth. YOU ALSO MUST recondition the leather afterward. It basically sucks the leather bone dry. Hope this helps.

Sweet, I should try this. I also need it to remove some pencil marks on the house walls from when we networked the house and accidentally drilled into a stud

I just used this on my frost interior 5th gen, my god how much dirt came out of the dash alone. The car looked clean inside, but i just wiped down the dash and most of the plastic inside and it looks great. Run your hand over an area you cleaned with it and one you thought was clean. You can feel its so much smoother after wiping it with the eraser. I have only cleaned the drivers seat with it so far, but it took out all the black from the grooves of the seat. There was black around the lumbar support handle that just instantly wiped away. After I cleaned the seat i used condtioner on it and it feels much nicer then before. I need to clean the rest of the seats now, but my hands are dead from rubbing.

Wow, once again the eraser hasnt seen anything it cant do. I accidently got some of that black adhesive from the taillights on my passenger seat (dime size amount). I couldnt get it off with anything, reached back behind my seat to get the eraser, and after about 30 seconds, it was gone. Truly amazing!

I have some really complicated rims that take close to an hour each to fully clean (brake dust, dirt, some greasy layer that doesn't come off easy) and shine so I've been procrastinating on cleaning them for almost 2 months. used a couple erasers and got each done in about 20 minutes!!

So I tried this thing this weekend to see if it would clean the dirt buildup from the texture in my (tan) interior vinyl. It worked GREAT. I can't beleive how clean the vinyl is now...like showroom.

The only thing to be careful about is that this thing is definitely abrasive. It's almost like a really really really soft scotchbrite pad. That means that using it constantly to clean sensitive items like vinyl is probably not the best idea. I would say it's a once a year or once every couple years thing on stuff like that. You also *have to keep it away from shiny surfaces.

Using it to clean rims isn't a bad idea. I used scotchbrite on my stock rims because I was desperate and nothing else worked (I know, it's still bad). I would be VERY careful about marring the surface, but if you have baked on brake dust these things might be a decent solution to avoid something more abrasive.

Pretty incredible little thing. Car seems to smell a little cleaner now too since all that gunk is gone. Very nice for rehabbing old dirty vinyl.

We had a 4 pack of magic erasers in the closet for probably 2 months, and had never even opened the box. After reading this thread, I decided to break them out.

Not too shabby - notice the strip down the middle that I cleaned:

I know it's hard to believe as bad as they look in this pic, but I didn't even think they were all that dirty until I started cleaning them.

We just bought a house, so started cleaning some pesky stains around the existing [rental] house as soon as I finished my seats, and these things are now a household favorite.

Just picked up 2 8-packs at Sams for 6.77/each.

i didn't thionk they were that bad, but then it's like a whole new color came out from undernearth the dirt

only complaint is that the magic erasers lose their function very fast.. have to use a lot of them

they can be found at Walmart (like BlueC) wrote..and Costco as well. Costco sells them in packs of 8.

OH, a quick remedy with the ME (Magic Eraser) wearing out...What i do is take an xcto knife and cut it in half equally (like you're filet a fish) from one end to the other, bascially making one 1 ME perform like 2 ME's.. it works for me.
