Weird sound from engine-video

What is this weird sound coming from my engine? It's a whirring sort of sound that I hear when the engine is cold and when it's idling, or when it's cold and I'm shifting and the engine is at low rpm's. It rises with the rpm and then dissapears at 2000 rpm or so. When the engine is warm it dissapears too. Any ideas of what it is?

Here's the link to listen to it-

I dont have a VE but from what I've read on here is that it makes clacking sounds when cold so I'm guessing its your VTCs...check it out there a thread somewhere with more details

That doesn’t really sound like VTC, or at least like mine, it’s too fast and quiet. Sounds like you have crickets in your intake: kiss:

Nope, it's not the VTCs, i know what that sounds like! haha. My VTCs used to be loud, but I started using the toyota filter and mobil 1 full synthetic oil and it's really quieted it down (mostly due to the toyota filter).

Someone on youtube commented that it could be a blown headgasket (OUCH-bad news), does this sound like a possibility?

i dont know much about engines, but it could be a bent piston connecting rod tapping the side of the block.

What part of the engine bay does it come from? For some reason I think I have heard this before but I don't remember.

That doesn't sound like rod knock or piston slap.

it doesn't sound like something major to me. All I hear is a little wistling-may be a vacuum(sp?) hose being a little loose?

It seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine bay.

One of the accesories[alty/ps pump/water pump/ac pump.] or tensioner pullys might be the cause of the noise...

Remove one accessory belt at a time, then run the engine to see if the sound goes away...

I could try that i guess, it'll probably take awhile, though, because after 5 minutes or so when the engine is warmed up the sound goes away, os I'll have to do it over and over when the engine is cold.
