I ordered an engine mount and bar as pre-order combo. I ordered brushed bar with black brackets. Joe from Racingline has said that the other colors are going out soon. Does brushed = custom color. If so I should be getting mine in about 2 weeks.

BTW. I'll take a battery tie down. Thanks TAZ

I don't believe that was a custom color.

Got my black FSTB today. I can't seem to get the passenger bolts to budge. Any tips? I sprayed with the penetrating oil...

Wow...if those bolts are rusted on then you must have other issues! lol...I hope that's not the case.

Use a 14mm SOCKET and just slap it free, that's how mine were.

Also, refer to my pics for "bending" the A/C line IF needed.

Doesn't look like rust. It just looks like they're REALLY on there. Maybe its some salt or something in them...I'll let the oil sit for a day and try again. I got the passenger side of no problem, just a little elbow grease. Why me...

I recieved my strut bar today. It looks very nice. I hope to intall it soon but I've been busy with taking care of my Mom (she fell and broke her hip). I do have one problem though. I was part of the orginal offer made in January. I have paid for the bar and front MMI but have only recieved the bar. Taz, you have a PM.

They can be tight if never removed before, use a breaker bar, the longer the better...

Mine is now installed. The 9/16 socket fit a lot more snug on the bolts than the 14 metric socket. I used that and a 2 foot steel pipe slipped over my ratchet to get the 3 stubborn bolts off. I used a 9/16 wrench to tighten the bolts closest to the engine, since the FSTB ended up getting in the way of tightening those 2 bolts. I ended up removing the rubber bushing around the A/C bracket, bending the bracket lower, twisting the A/C cap a tad, and finally taking out the white clip and replacing it with a zip tie. Everything now has plenty of clearance. Using a zip tie instead of the white plastic wasn't really necessary for clearing the FTSB, but it gave it so much extra clearance that I feel more comfortable with my install. Now I just got to hope that the plastic zip tie doesn't melt or snap...

IMO, once you bend the A/C line, it WILL NOT go anywhere, so the zip-tie is just there just to be there

I'll have pics of the install tomorrow. (as it is night, raining, and God is preventing me from installing it).

It was raining here too. Thats the great thing about garages

It was a 30 minute job with my fooling around with the bracket. I think there have been plenty of pics posted...otherwise I'd post some.

Clean install and engine bay. It looks as though it was well worth the wait for such a nice piece to add to the Max. Nice job Taz. Taz, got any black ones left in stock?

Try bending the AC lines [they bend easy] & bracket toward the engine & down

Unbelievable.

Trekked to the 'rents house and installed it. I could tell immediately upon driving down the road the immense difference. Seriously. I have complete stock suspension and this is the first modification to the suspension I've done. It is 900% better than before. I was taking turns with confidence and the car was handling like a sports car (finally). The bar is so good that I can feel the back end's weakness (which, when my v2 endlinks come in a couple days, will be rectified.

I even let Onilee (my wife) drive the car when we got home and she could tell immediately. In her words "I'm not scared to drive it now" (in reference to the floating around corners).

All I have to say is PHENOMENAL. Thank you Mr. Taz!

Sincerely,

Joshua

machinist- how the hell did the right strut cover go back on without having to be cut like mine?

let me know what you did because I don't really like seeing that hacked up POS whenever I pop open my hood!
