just bought z32 26mm calipers

hello everyone, i recently purchased a set of rebuilt z32 aluminum 26mm calipers with pads, pins and z32 rotors. where is it exactly that i go from here?? i heard i caould use the rotors without milling them down but i also heard i had to mill them down. idk!! i dont need a relocation bracket right? also where can i find a brake line converter? since i am still using factory lines.. i realized that the calipers dont have the fitting for where the brake line connects. is that normal or is it something i need to get?

all help is appreciated and plz dont bust my chops cuz i did search, what i read just wasnt clear enough to me.

thanks again

To answer one question out of that mess, if you just bolt the Z32s up without relocation brackets you will need to mill the diameter of the rotor and use conversion lines.

You should be able to find the conversion line for 240s...

As far as the relo, you don't NEED it for them to work. What it does is move the caliper further out on the rotor for more effective braking (imagine trying to stop a spinning bike wheel by using your two hands near the bearing versus grabbing the tire). People tend to take this route (brackets/cobra rotors) when they decide to go to the trouble of upgrading brakes.

No. The relocation brackets are for the 13" cobra rotors only.

Congrats but with the 26mm calipers, your only choice is to run the oem smallish Z32 rotors and mill them. If you want to run the 13" cobra rotors and my brackets, you need teh 30mm versions.

Any shop with a brake lathe should be able to do it.

Sounds like you jumped in with two feet first without knowing exactly what you have to do and why. Not too smart.

Do some REAL research and know what you're getting into before you throw down a bunch of money. If not, sell the parts and consider it a lesson learned the hard way.

Good luck!

They're cheap because they're not much better than the stockers.

What year car?
the stock 2000-2001 rotors are larger diameter than the Z32 rotors and 26mm thick.
02-03 are an inch larger, but 24mm thick.
04-08 are 12.6" x 28mm.

the only good thing about the setup you have is the Z calipers, which have better selection of high performance brake pads.

As for milling the rotors down, anybody with a brake lathe can do it. they just have to take their time. I milled down a small stack of rotors last weekend using a standard Accu-Turn disc/drum brake lathe.

I completely understand that. I know they arent alllllllll that. I just didnt want to spend the money on the 30 mm and all of the above for that setup. Guess I'm just really going for the look mostly. I love the look of these calipers. I would really like to keep the diameter if the z32 rotor cuz it is indeed larger than the stick 4th gen. Any thoughts on shaving the inside or the calipers a little instead??

the stock 4th gen rotors are the same diameter as the Z32 rotors (11.02"), just thinner.

Don't even think about modifying the calipers. That's asking for catastrophic failure just when you need it most. just machine down the diameter of the rotors a small amount and call it a day.

Depending on how soon your going to put the setup together I have a set of 26mm rotors already milled down. My car currently has the 26mm setup on it, but the calipers are junk. I'm going back stock until I decide what the next setup is going to be. The rotors are in good condition, if your intrested send me a PM.
