I have been chasing a misfire and think it may be the injector plugs. They are all cracked and brittlle. Moving them can make anywhere from a minor change in idle to a dead miss. I ordered 6 new ones. I was thinking about putting electrical grease to help seal them and prevent corrosion. How ever I was concerned that the electrical current could cross between the pins through the grease and short.

Is this a valid concern?

I think I am going to hit the injector pins with a dremel briefly to get that green corrosion crud off of them.

 

nope; dielectric grease is non-conductive.
how it works: the contacts will move the grease out of the way of each other, causing the current to flow. it fills the extra space, covering the rest of the connection, preventing the corrosion commonly found in these type connectors.

gapboi210, Where did you order the injector plugs from? I am having the same problem. Don't you have to solder them in?

I found some electrical grease on my starter power wire connectors going to the pos side of battery. My battery is holding 12.61 volts off after overnight and charging round 14.28 when running with good power loads. Can that grease after time affect current? If so should I just replace power wire?

 

I got them off ebay, Im sure you could splice them in with connectors, but I am going to solder them for a corrosion resistant connection. (never soldered before and have been practicing on scrap wire lol.)
