RIP MAXIMA - 8/13/11

My Maxima was struck down this past Saturday around 2:30pm on the way to work (By a dumb b*tch trying to turn left from the center lane!) I've had a couple of fender benders in the past from which the MAX was able to spring back but this one was deemed the Big TL. Luckily no one was hurt and even thought she tried to deny being at fault (like all women) some police persuasion led her to admit and assume complete responsibility. Her insurance is mum so far as to how much they are willing to pay but I know their offer wont be enough considering all the maintenance and upkeep I had on it (which is why i'm prepared to fight it). My MAX had AT LEAST 2 more great years before I needed to think about buying another car. I guess all good things must come to an end. It hits me really hard since I pretty much feel like I lost a REALLY good friend (bought it when I started College and drove it from Indy to FLA for my first job out of college and from FLA to Houston when I got transferred to another position).

I would like to thank everyone on this site over the years who have helped me out with my MAX and hopefully I'm able to find another MAX and come back.

Thank You all and God Bless!

Its not my intention to do so. Got some comparable quotes for othher maxximas to show them when they make their offer.

When my car was totalled, the guy had a different insurance company than State Farm. But I think they all kind of work the same way.

If you can show them receipts for repairs (not maintenance stuff like brakes and oil) within the last year, they will add that on to the settlement amount.

For or example, in my case I had to have the auto trans rebuilt about 5 months before the accident and I got money, but I think they may have prorated it.

The only problem with that is that I did most of my own repairs. I can get receipts for parts though.

After you settle with the payment.
My friend made an offer to the company for the banged up car and they agreed to sell it back to them for very little. That worked for him.
