2000 V6 engine issue

we have a 2000 V6 auto, randomly the engine will loose pretty much all power, have to pull over, turn ignition off for at least a cpl of seconds and then restart.
When this happens idle speed is way up (1500 or so) no accelleration.

Anyone have any clues as to what the problem may be ?

Also, the ECU, what sort of connection does it use (Obd2?) and where would the connection be located ?

Thanks in advance

Its called the revolution speed sensor, auto zone has em but they might tell you its the one that has a little wheel on it, thats a different speed sensor, make sure you get the one in the pic above. They both go into the tranny but the one you want is that one...good luck

Try cleaning the MAF sensor.
