Phone mounting

Trying to figure out the best place to mount a magnetic mount for my phone. Used the vent style ones before but they don't seem to fit the 2016 maxima. Anyone have suggestions on product and location of where to mount it maybe. Pictures would be great. Thanks.

I use the cd player, I put my ipad there now though, by far the best spot IMO.
It doesn't really block anything, last pic is of the mount itself.

edit: heres a pic of the pic of the phone

I second the Koomus. I got the Pro CD-M model that has a little bit lower of a profile and doesn't block the screen at all.

Here it is on

I just purchased a vent clip from Amazon. I'm hoping it works good. I had a cd mount in my previous Maxima and it was only OK. It would come loose after a while and fall. In this Maxima it's up too high for me to take that risk. The one I just purchased is below:

I also bought the new model aswell. Were you able to get it tight enough so there is no play? That's one of the reasons I continue to use the previous model. Also I noticed the magnet has half the strength of the previous model

I have that slim Koomis pro CD and my tab has a little vibration. Ordered the older one that punkfs is using for his tablet. I think that is the right one to help stabilize a tablet for my S8+, the CD pro is perfect and stays tight and locked w no vibration.

I've had it for almost two years now and it hasn't given me any issues with coming loose. The magnet has been plenty strong for me as well. I have been extremely happy with it.

Granted, I have an iPhone 7+, not a tablet, so a tablet may stress it a little more...in which case the older model may make more sense.

I got this:
Amazon Amazon

It's cheap, small, non-intrusive and it holds the phone really well, as long as you don't mind sticking a metal plate to your phone. Or you can stick the metal plate to the inside of a slim case, between the phone and the case. It still holds strong.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try out that gummi. Really just a phone here and like the grab and go for google maps and conference calls when I have to come off mute and yell at someone. Thanks.

Here's another option for phones or tablets, ProClip. I've had this product in my Maxima for years for my iPhone, works great: http://www.proclipusa.com/product-fi...FdqFswodp54OEA

Got the Koomis pro CD mount at it's a winner for tablet mounting. The mount is wider and sturdier supporting an 8" tablet with no vibration what so ever. Thanks punkfs for the link.

My phone fits perfectly here...I can charge it without a problem. Plus, it doesn't block anything at all.

Do not get the grey one. the magnet is half as strong and there is alot of play in the cd player. The original design is far better and way stronger. I have both.

I posted pics of the good one in the 2nd reply

Hmm..
Ian says the grey one of the Koomus proCD-M is good and you say the black one of the Koomus Magnetos CD one is good lol. Which one is sturdy, no vibration and has a strong magnetic?

I have 2 of each, I've used this for at least 4 years already... Grey one has more play, magnet is half as strong, ie: wouldn't hold my phone or tablet if the metal plate was inside the case while the black one holds it no problem. And the black one has a thumb screw to manually tighten the mount so it doesn't have play while the grey one is just one tension. I'm just giving you my personal opinion. I have the black ones in both of my cars and the greys ones in my desk drawer. I currently mount an ipad mini but i've used an ipad 10.5 before and it held fine on the black but not the grey. I'm sure if you bought the grey one you would find its perfectly fine.. since you never had anything to compare it too... when I tried the new one i noticed immediately the lack of grip due to more padding. good luck, they are cheap anyways

I discovered that my phone fits nice and snug (in landscape mode) right between the cover of that little cubby (open) and the AC right ****. perfect for occasional Google maps navi.

I like this solution and there are also gooseneck holders that attach to the inner front seat floor bolt at the base. They are solid enought to support most any size phone or tablet and can be pushed out of the way when not needed.
